What Can You Sell on Armadio?

What Can You Sell on Armadio.co? The quick answer to this questions is almost any type of women’s clothing, accessories, or jewelry that is in good or new condition. Tops and skirts, shoes and belts, and dresses are popular items as are hats, jewelry, coats and other accessories.

Selling jewelry, may be one of the easiest because it doesn’t require the same amount of description as clothing (sizing issues and such are simpler). In all cases, a picture is worth a thousand words and two or three pictures are worth . . well you get the idea.

You can combine a necklace or bracelet with earrings and set one price. Take a look through your jewelry box or drawer and find the items you either don’t like or simply don’t ware – sell them and make room for “presents” from your admirers that you will wear.

A coat that you never or hardly ever wore is another good item to sell and you will create space in your closet, making room for more useful apparel. Coats and jackets are often worn less than other clothes and stay in excellent condition making them a great sale item for Armadio.

Do you have luggage that is just sitting in your closet taking up valuable space, pieces you never use? Take the plunge, sell it on Armadio. Good quality luggage is in demand. If you price it correctly it will sell quickly. If you’re feeling in a generous mood give a portion of the sale price to a favored charity!

But don’t stop there – shoes, tops, dresses, skirts, pants, hats, suits, belts, boots, etc. are all good items to sell and as always we encourage you to share your sales with a favored charity!

Too Many Shoes – Nonsense!

Question: When do you have too many shoes?

Answer: When you need room in your armadio for New Shoes and not a minute sooner!!

HOWEVER, if you are running out of room in your closet for your newest finds, then the time has come to evaluate the use of your limited closet “real estate” and make sure you are using the space to your best advantage.

Shoes are not clothes they are accessories. And, we all know that having the right accessory is essential for a great look. The number of shoes in your closet is a fashion statement not a clothing necessity. It’s one of those things men (most of them) simply don’t get.

When the time comes use these three simple rules for removing “unhappy” shoes and replacing them with “happy”ones. -

Rule #1: Keep “happy” shoes, these are the shoes that put a smile on your face the moment you put them on.

Rule # 2: .Don’t keep a pair of shoes unless they truly fit – you’ll never look your best if you’re in pain!

Rule # 3:  Remove shoes that have outlived their fashion half-life, which can occur for a number of reasons, but I doubt you need me to tell what they are

Sometimes it will be easy to pick out the shoes that need to go, You won’t need any help at all, but not always.

At times you will find it difficult to choose the shoes that you must remove, do what I do, flip a coin. If the result of the coin flip does not reflect what you really want it will be obvious to you. This simple trick will help you discover what you truly want to do – so do it!

Do Your Clothes Lift You Up or Bring You Down?

Using my keen sense of observation, I have decided that we often act like upright walking squirrels gone mad.

When I look in some closets (mine included) it appears we are like squirrels, but without the excuse that we need to store food for winter. Said more simply we collect and store clothes, hats, handbags etc. etc. and cling to these items long after they are of use to us. We jam things in every corner of the draws, shelves, closets and baskets we own. If we run out of places to put belongs we buy boxes and containers – ever heard of a junk drawer! Of course you have. This is the ultimate sign of too much stuff…we acknowledge it. We call it “JUNK.”

However, do we get rid of it? Of course not! And, if you’re like me, you keep pushing down the old junk in the drawer to make room for new junk. This madness must stop!

I know you’re going to tell me that the clothes, shoes, scarfs, bracelets (I’m talking about the ones you never wear) all have sentimental value, but do you truly remember why anymore?

Won’t it feel good to purge every now and again? Do you get the urge to purge especially (but not limited to) the spring season? We call it “spring cleaning” but trust me it feels good any time of the year.

Here’s a possible path out of the madness. In the book, SoulSpace, by Xorin Balbes the author describes how our homes reflect and even direct our lives based on what we have in them. He helps people figure out what is and more importantly, what isn’t working…spatially in your home. Xorin provides a process to help you create a SoulSpace that respects your past, celebrates who you are now, and helps you intelligently move into the future.

Here is one question to get you started: Do your associations with your belongings lift you up or bring you down?

Many of you probably do this with relationships, but have you ever asked this question regarding your clothes? We keep pieces of clothing, accessories, and jewelry (especially jewelry) for all sorts of reasons not always consciously as you may now be realizing. The really cool thing is that assessing our belongings based on how they make us feel is totally a revelation or at least it was for me!

This one question led to a deep and passionate reassessment of my wardrobe. Looking at your clothes based on how they make you feel is cathartic. You’ll be smiling in no time. Simply ask “Does it make me smile or does it irritate me? Does this jewelry make me feel guilty or happy? Do I have fond memories or any memories at all about this hat or the person who gave it to me? If you’re going to wear these things, you should feel good about it! If you are starting to feel the urge to purge, go for it!

PS When you are done purging, select out the pieces that have value and get busy photographing them so you can sell them online – just because they don’t work for you doesn’t mean someone else won’t love them.

Finding Your Unique Fashion Style

We all want a personal style that is unique and at the same time is not out of sync with current fashion trends. It’s a never ending process and one of the reasons retailers stay in business. The idea is to find your “look” and then continue to perfect it and keep it current by adding carefully selected items.

Begin with an honest self-appraisal – What is your current style?
Now think for a moment – Is this the signature style you want?

Remember you don’t have to stick with one style religiously to create “your” personal look. If you tend to be preppy, it’s perfectly okay to add modern pieces to your ensemble. If you have a very sophisticated style, you can still add playful items to your wardrobe that are consistent with how you want to be perceived; high quality and classic lines will do the trick.

Often it’s the accessories that define you. One friend, that I adore, almost never leaves the house with less than two or three prominent accessories that create her silhouette. These include a wide brimmed hat, simple but large-sized earrings, and Ray-Ban sunglasses!

This would not work for everyone, but it sure as heck works for her. She lets her accessories define her and she creates a signature look that is as bold as it is famine.

You don’t have to be ridged about the look you create, your appearance can flow with the seasons and the weekday, weekend, and evening activities in which you engage. Play with different styles (e.g., outdoorsy and rugged, preppy, or rocker chic) Let every day be an adventure!

What’s your signature look and the pieces that define it?

Make Room for Holiday Gifts Now

The Holidays will soon be upon us and we’ll all be rushing around finding last minute gifts for loved ones and hoping to receive them too! One of the less joyful tasks is making room for the new “stuff.” This often requires reorganizing your closet to create room for an upgraded wardrobe. `The question is what will you do with all the clothes and accessories you already have?

If you are like most of us, there are a lot of items in your closet and dresser drawers that you simply do not use. The reasons are less important, the fact is you have too much “inventory” and some of it (perhaps a lot of it) you don’t wear and haven’t worn for a long time. Its all good clothing, it just doesn’t suite you (yes pun intended) anymore.

Now is the time to sort through the clothes and accessories you own and separate out the “I will wear” from the “I won’t wear” perhaps including a pile for “not sure.” Once you separated out the clothes and accessories you won’t be wearing you’ll have room for all the new gifts you’re hoping to receive.

Keep the old stuff in a convenient place and when the Armadio marketplace opens up early next year you’ll be ready to sell your preowned items and perhaps make a donation to your favorite charity.

What a great New Years Resolution!

Would You Buy What’s in Your Closet?

If you haven’t looked through the items in your closet lately, what’s in there may surprise you!

Go to your clothes closet and/or your dresser, but before you look inside pretend you are there to buy what you see. Look at the clothes and accessories from a new point of view. Ask yourself:  “Would I buy these items if I were shopping for clothes and accessories today?”  Said another way, “Which of the items I see here would I want to buy today?”

Now take all the items you would not buy if you were shopping today and put them in one section of your closet separated from all the items you would buy today.

Congratulations! You have just taken the first step toward creating a better wardrobe.

In addition, you have taken a first step toward setting up a “closet” on the soon to be launched www.Armadio.co website, where you can sell the items that don’t work for you anymore and buy things that do!

Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to make a donation to a charity you favor. To learn more signup for our emails and visit our blog again to read the newest posts on closet management, fashion tips, and other news and updates from Armadio.

See you soon!
