Do you have a fashion pet peeve? I know you do, we all do. So, tell us about it. What really gets your goat when it comes to fashion?
What is it that makes you say “Oh please . . . you must be kidding, did you look in the mirror before you left the house?”
Sometimes it’s just a lack of trying or knowing what to do that makes a person stand out, but in a not-so-good way. Tell us about the fashion mistakes you see every day walking to work or when you are shopping at the mall. If someone suffers from your fashion pet peeve you’ll be doing them a service by pointing it out. Sometimes we just need a third party to make us aware of what’s wrong.
Most importantly have fun telling us what you think. If your idea attracts our website editors attention you could see your “pet peeve” highlighted on the MyArmadio blog or perhaps on our website, which is now here!.

Pet Peeve of the Century: Leggings worn as pants.
While they may cover your legs like pants, they are not – I repeat, NOT – pants. I equate this fashion sin to wearing tights without wearing a skirt or dress to cover your naughty bits.
It’s unflattering and never classy. Ever.
I
leggings/tights/spandex is a PRIVILEGE!!! not a right. It takes about 45 min on the stairmaster 3x a week + running 5 miles min 2x a week to pull it off!
Spandex. Especially on big girls, reminds me of Fred Flintstone in ballet tights
OMG! The leggings worn as pants is mine too – Drives me mental!! No one wants to see it and people need to learn its not on!! Soon as it starts nearing cooler weather my friends and I all cringe that it’s “Wear pants as leggings season” … There’s nothing worse!
Not wearing the appropriate size. No one cares what the inside of the tag says. We see the outer parts.
My pet peeve is dumpy little housewives wearing capri-length pants. Hello? They just make you look shorter, fatter, and completely boring.
totally agree. worse thing a woman could ever wear. Ladies!! c’mon- think of the lines you want to create and attention to the flattering parts of the body. Advertising fat ankles? what-ever! Are you really trying to drive your husband/lover/partner away! its working!
I simply want to say I absolutely enjoyed you’re web-site and I’m bookmarking your blog. Thanks.
I have a really hard time with women that think they are 17 all the time. Ladies…you can still be sexy while being age appropriate without loosing anything on the style side! Dressing too young for your age is not flattering..it actually ages you!
Woman wearing big baggy jumpers 3 sizes too big.. Possibly even their mans.. Awful lol so unflattering however cold you are, get a cardi.
Very tight pocketless jeans…..
KITTEN HEELS really really bother me. They are the most unflattering type of shoe going. If you don’t feel comfortable wearing a bigger heel and choose to use the alternative of a kitten heel you may as well wear pumps.
I find that on any leg it makes the calf look bigger and makes you walk in a sort of clumpy way.
It’s funny how kitten heels bother me too. You’re right they do make people walk funny.
Nice story. Bring on the pet peeves. I’m a big fan of pet peeves.
ha ha have some kitten heels looked nice on shelf, can’t walk in them wore them once…. took them off half way through the night and changed into my backup shoes :)
When people leave the “100% wool” tag sewn on their coat sleeve and when people don’t remove the threads that hold a back vent closed are easily 2 of my most peevish things ever…for men & women! Can I add seeing a bra through a top you shouldn’t be able to see through???
Women or men who wear flip flops for all occasions and everywhere. It’s time to be an adult and buy real shoes. The women who wore flip flops to visit with the President were a fashion disgrace. Flip flops are for the beach.
My pet peeve are “muffin tops” when people’s belly fat hangs over their pants and people who leave their price tags on the bottom of their shoes; we can see the sticker when you walk!
1. Women not dressing their age. Ladies, you may feel 17 on the inside but if you’re 45 then leave your daughter’s clothes in her closet… They belong to her and not you for a reason.
2. Wearing too small of a size. Doesn’t matter if you’re 16 or 50, wear a size that fits! If you question it then it’s probably too small. You’ll look a million times better, and sexier, if you wear the proper size!
3. Men wearing cargo shorts with white socks and black sandals… Just don’t, ever.
4. Anything glittered, with rhinestones, or with wings. Jeans tees and hats made by Affliction or anything related… All of these should find their way to the nearest trash can. Stick with basics and solid colors if you must wear jeans and a tee.
5. Jean shorts left unzipped and rolled down… Just really? Zip up or just take them off please.
6. Juicey Couture matching sweat suits, especially on middle aged women.
7. Super fake bags… I get it, designer bags are crazy expensive but if you’re going to buy a look a like at very least get one not so noticeable. Ones with all over fake logos are usually a dead on give-a-way… No ones impressed, just get a cheap super cute one from Target or something.
8. Men in suits that are a size or 5 too big… C’mon don’t be lazy, go get yourself measured, it’s free.
And scene. My apologies for the rant! Visit my fashion blog at stephieprice.com
Excellent comments, woman can use your advice as an elimination process for certain looks or styles which make them look less flattering. You help them upgrade their sense of style so they can stand out and look great. Style and dressing your age without feeling old isn’t easy but not impossible. Happy dressing ladies!
Brown vest with a black suit. SOMETIMES brown and black can be paired together in women’s wear but oh god I have never seen such a horrendous color pair. Men, please leave this for the fashionistias (male fashionistas included)
Oh don’t get me started where shall i begin… hmmm? socks with sandals, just don’t do it ever unless you intentionally want to look like yr not so chic dad or grandpa or it’s for a costume of some sort.
skirts mor shorts that are so short one’s bum cheeks are hanging out, not pretty girls…. even if you have a lovely tushie…..
anything that looks too trashy as in you look like a sex trade worker trashy only you’re not a sex trade worker.
clothes that are too small for you, most especially t-shirts and tops. do not squeeze your size 12 body into a size 6 or 8 anything and hope it holds you all in just looks awful. You will look more slim in something that fits and is proportioned properly gals.
You are so cool! I have not read a single thing like this before. So good to find another person with some original thoughts. Really.. thank you for starting this pet peeve topic – the comments are interesting too. This type of website is needed on the internet, someone with some originality!
Awesome post. I’ll have to think about my pet peeve – see you soon.
Whoah this blog is fantastic i love reading your posts. Keep up the good work! You understand, people and their peeves.
